What you will do

Join us on this lovely 11.5 miles history hike through the Garden of England ! The walk leads through historic villages ,and an ancient woodland covered by lovely bluebells a symbol of humility, constancy, gratitude and everlasting love, and includes an optional visit to Leads Castle also known as the Ladies' Castle. Along the way you will hear the story of a steamy love affair, see the famous home of a prominent Kentish family, the Culpeppers , visit two historic churches and enjoy the stunning Kentish countryside. You will also find out about folklore surrounding bluebells and the practical uses of this charming flower throughout the ages. We are meeting at Victoria Station at 08.10 by the benches in front of Wasabi or you can choose to meet us at Hollingbourne train station. The price includes guided hike lead by a North Downs Way Ambassador HML Trainee and Blue Badge Tourist Gu

What's included

No food and drinks are provided, a donation to churches along the way is included and if joining from London your train tickets are included . Get in touch if you prefer to meet at Hollingbourne .

What I might need

Wear comfortable clothes for a full day hike, hiking shoes or boots. Bring waterproof jacket if it rains Bring packed lunch and water for the day.

About the host

Your guide will be Ildi Pelikan London & Wales Blue Badge Tourist Guide, North Down's Way Ambassador & Eryri Ambassador, Qualified in Sustainable Tourism , HML trainee. She speaks English, Portuguese , Spanish and Hungarian and is a Welsh learner.
